Let's all play our part

Making operations sustainable and employing a diverse workforce in an inclusive, accessible environment have long been part of many organisations' corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy; but those aims didn't always permeate an organisation's culture.

Now there's a greater realisation that a focus on sustainability and accessibility can actually bring business benefits. Sustainability often goes hand in hand with cost efficiencies, as equipment and processes that protect the planet by using less resources also cost less to run. You'll often find that devices designed with the environment in mind help to create healthier indoor spaces, too. And everyone benefits from technology and equipment that follows best-practice design principles for usability and accessibility.

Above all, today's customers and consumers tend to have a heightened awareness of environmental and equality issues that can strongly influence who they choose to buy from. Enhancing your reputation as a sustainable, responsible and fair-minded company, and having a workforce that reflects the diversity of your customer base, could have a significant impact.

There are many ways to make your organisation more sustainable and provide an inclusive working environment. Konica Minolta can help, with a range of technology, devices and services that reflect our own commitment to environmental protection and equal access for all.

A better environment, inside and out

As standard, all Konica Minolta multifunctional devices (MFDs) are energy efficient, and easy for everyone to use. For organisations that want to go a step further — including contributing to environmental and social initiatives — our bizhub ECO package adds further value to your Konica Minolta MFDs with:
  • A tailored configuration for optimally efficient printing and minimal waste
  • Sponsorship of tree-planting in Kenya that contributes to climate protection, reforestation, biodiversity; and supports better opportunities for female farmers

And because all the benefits are quantified, you can share what you're doing with employees, customers and partners using the communication package we provide.

Our devices are designed with usability in mind and follow industry-leading universal design guidelines. We use colour and colour-coding to make things easy to use and keep users safe. Paper trays and toner cartridges are easily accessible for refilling, and the automatic document feeder can be lifted with little physical effort, even by seated users. The touchscreen interfaces are large and can be tilted to any angle; users additionally can download the free bizhub Remote Access app to operate the display from their smart device.

We also care about helping our customers create an indoor environment that's healthy and comfortable for everyone to work in. To improve indoor air quality, our latest devices incorporate air cleaning units that reduce ultrafine particle emissions by at least 90%. For older devices, attachable units reduce the same emissions by between 82% and 97%.

1. What are sustainability services?

Sustainability services are designed to help organisations reduce their impact on the environment and support social initiatives. Konica Minolta is committed to a sustainable world — for our customers’ business success, for society, and for future generations. We express that commitment through our contributions to the achievement of the global UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

3. What does diversity in the workplace mean?

The term 'workplace diversity' refers to a workforce composed of people with a variety of characteristics such as gender, religion, race, age, ethnicity, physical ability, sexual orientation; as well as other attributes like educational background, nationality and life experience.

A diverse workplace should also be an inclusive environment, accessible to all, where everyone has the resources they need to contribute effectively.

4. How does diversity affect the workplace?

There's a strong business case for diversity. A company that embraces diversity has a larger talent pool to choose from, and can benefit from a wider array of attitudes and perspectives that can lead to fresh approaches to problem-solving and decision-making, and increased innovation.
