High Visibility Clothing Colour Measurement

High visibility textiles must be measured with a 45°:0° geometry spectrophotometer to meet the international standard EN ISO20471 and ensure that they perform their function. The fluorescent colours used ensure that they stand out in any environment against any background, typically red orange, yellow, and yellow/green, and protect the wearer by ensuring that they stand out. Production that meets these standards is therefore critically important for protecting lives. Failure to do so may have tragic consequences. Optical brightener is used, absorbing energy from outside the visible spectrum and emitting it within the visual spectrum making these garments appear brighter than clothing without.
