Konica Minolta placed in top five percent of companies in its industry by the EcoVadis sustainability ratings for 2023

| 13 March 2023

Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded again a GOLD Level Recognition Medal in the EcoVadis sustainability ratings for 2023, putting it amongst the top five percent of companies in its industry. The EcoVadis sustainability ratings are issued by EcoVadis of France to recognise corporate responsibility practices and the rating reflects Konica Minolta’s sustained and committed focus on being a highly sustainable and socially responsible business.

EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, creating a global network of more than 90,000+ rated companies during the last years. By earning a Gold Level Recognition Medal in EcoVadis’ sustainability ratings, Konica Minolta has been confirmed as being in the top five percent of benchmarked companies in its industry. 2023 marks the eighth successive year that Konica Minolta has participated in the independent audit process and been awarded a high ranking.

Using four key indices, the EcoVadis rating process assesses corporate social responsibility (CSR) in four key areas – Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The rating process is based on scorecards for each participating company that cover 21 CSR indicators, 190 commodities and 150 countries. The evaluation environment is built on the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26000, which take environment, social, ethics and supply chain activities into account.

Within the EcoVadis scorecard report, Konica Minolta was particularly praised for its Environment initiatives (receiving an ‘Outstanding’ score of 90%) and the report highlighted the company’s strengths in its policies, actions, and results in this field. Another highlight was EcoVadis’s score of 80% (‘Advanced’) for Konica Minolta’s in Ethics, which again reflects its robust policies, actions, and results in this field.
